                A Tremoring Ball of Longing

                a whisper whisper whisper whisper
                        at night is scaring the dream
                        with the mordant fingernails of stars
                        through the glass and the rain
                a murmur murmur murmur
                        is nudging with a cat's paw
                        the mouse's back

                blood blood blood
                        lapped greedily with a soft tongue
                a - ki - s - s of lips
                        expecting so much
                        from the shadows grown in the corners
                        a spider's web wound around the neck
                        pulsing with desire
                        constricts chokes
                a leaf leaf leaf
                        a dead tree
                        in its last breath
                        has born a cadaver
                a thread thread
                        is swaying an inert body
                        web-spinning are the spiders of stars
                of stars
