		(Dedicated) To a Child
		-------------------------------------------------------

		what was it -- a peek of spring sunshine
		   it rustled in the leaves
		light flared up all golden
		and exploded as a firework in song
		first -- rootstock reamed the snow
		in springtime
		then grew taller
		white -- tiny
		straight
		in the skies three little stars shone
		and sang
		look what a funny fellow that
		    how small
		and he smiled at his
		    softly plated
		cradle -- moved
		his tiny hand
		the three little stars stooped lower
		curious
		and now -- only one remains
		but two -- shine aquamarine
		in the open eyes of the child
