		Over a Poem
		-------------------------------------------------------

		Pour yourself one -- we will read poems
		repeat stubbornly after me
		   "a night like a wall"
		and you will see a wall
		and on the wall you will see
		pinned up with a rusted tack
		two little cutout red paper hearts
		you'll get all touchy-feely -- how beautiful
		   geometrical
		   idyllic
		   when they flutter
		   when they (move) this blood
		   up and down
		   when they congeal
		   when they kick the bucket
		   to get reborn as the beginning of a poem
		"two of them"
		Booze!
		a ceiling fan in the head -- that's ok
		with funny wings
		and out the window
		   that wall -- like a night
		evening's so short
		day is so short
		words -- short
		the fan is on
		in the head -- what? --
		the night -- this very night -- like a wall
