Your question to the Correspondence with Citizens Unit has been received and will be dealt with as soon as possible.

Request for information on 30 May 2008 action by the European Parliament recognizing the Republic of Kosovo. Need to know if vote was recorded, and if so, how many voted for and how many against. Also, the meaning of this action and its consequences for European Parliament activities.
The volunteer editors of Wikipedia are currently struggling with documenting yesterday's recognition of Republic of Kosovo by the European Parliament, and have been unable to achieve consensus on documenting this event in a Wikipedia article dealing with the international reaction to the 2008 Kosovo declaration of independence.

This discussion is taking place on the discussion page of the article [[International reaction to the 2008 Kosovo declaration of independence]]. A suggestion was made, that one of us contact the European Parliament and obtain official information that could be used as authorative and verifiable source for this EP event. In particular, is there an EP web page or a planned web page, such as a press release or an account of the voting (how many for, how many against, etc.) that you could make available? Or, could you send us a letter confirming and explaining what had transpired?

It would be best if the response was made directly on the Wikipedia discussion page, with contact information included, but email to me, with permission to publish it on that page, would also suffice.

Thank you,

Marek Lugowski
